Babylon and Zion

Here are the lyrics of the Bob Marley song (Rastaman Chant) you listened to today:

Hear the words of the Rastaman say:
“Babylon, you throne gone down, gone down;
Babylon, you throne gone down.”

Said I hear the words of the Iyaman say:
“Babylon, you throne gone down, gone down;
Babylon, you throne gone down.”

And I hear the angel with the seven seals say:
“Babylon throne gone down, gone down;
Babylon throne gone down.”

I say fly away home to Zion (fly away home);
I say fly away home to Zion (fly away home).
One bright morning when my work is over,
Man will fly away home.

One bright morning when my work is over,
Man will fly away home.
One bright morning when my work is over,
Man will fly away home.
Say one bright morning when my work is over,
Man will fly away home.

And here it is (by Julian Marley and Busta Rhymes):

Document # : ‘The Library of History’ by Diodorus Siculus (c.25 BCE)

Persepolis was the capital of the Persian kingdom. Alexander described it to the Macedonians as the most hateful of the cities of Asia and gave it over to his soldiers to plunder, all but the palaces. It was the richest city under the sun, and the private houses had been furnished with every sort of wealth over the years. The Macedonians raced into it slaughtering all the men whom they met and plundering the residences; many of the houses belonged to the common people and were abundantly supplied with furniture and apparel of every kind.Here much silver and gold was carried off and richly decorated clothes with sea purple and gold embroidery became prizes for the victors. The enormous palaces, famed throughout the whole civilized world, fell victim to insult and utter destruction.
